Terms of Service

What this site is

Go Korea is a place for people moving to Korea and people already living here to ask and answer each other. It is free to use.

What you read here is members' experience, not professional advice. For anything with real consequences — visas, law, medicine, money — confirm with the responsible office or a qualified person. Rules change often, and the same question can have different answers depending on your nationality and status.

Rules for posting

No abuse, discrimination, or harassment, and nothing demeaning aimed at a nationality or origin.

Do not post other people's personal information without their consent. Be careful with your own, too — passport and ARC photos, bank account numbers, and home addresses do not belong in a public post.

Advertising, flooding, and repeated identical posts will be removed.

No illegal transactions or brokering (unlicensed job placement, false documents, and the like).

Deals between members — secondhand sales, finding a room — are between those members. The operator is not a party to them and is not responsible for the outcome.

Rights to what you write

You keep the copyright to your posts and comments.

By posting, you allow the site to display, index, and back up that content as needed to run the service. Nothing beyond that — we do not sell it or use it in advertising.

Operator notices are machine-translated into several languages. Posts written by members are not translated; they stay in the language they were written in.

What the operator may do

Posts and comments that break the rules above may be hidden without notice. This is reversible; contact us if you disagree.

Accounts that break the rules repeatedly, or harm others, may lose the ability to post.

If a particular member is a problem for you, you can block them yourself, separately from reporting. Blocking hides their posts and comments from you only, and they are not told about it.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile.

Doing so removes your email, name, and profile picture, and disconnects Google sign-in. **Your posts and comments remain, but no longer show who wrote them.** Deleting them outright would collapse the replies and conversations other people built on them — erasing your own record should not erase theirs.

If you want your posts gone as well, delete them yourself before deleting your account. Images attached to them are removed at the same time.

Limits of the service

This site is run by one person. It may pause for maintenance or faults, sometimes without advance notice.

We do not guarantee that posts are accurate. Acting on what you read here is your own decision.

Changes

If these terms change, we post them here with the date, and announce significant changes on the site.
