QuestionChanging from D-10 to E-7 — how long did the whole thing take you?

I got a job offer and I'm trying to work out how much runway I need before my D-10 runs out. I'm not asking anyone to guess my case — I know it depends on the company and the position. I'd just like to hear roughly how it went for people who've actually been through it, so I know whether to be worried or not. Also: did you book the immigration appointment before or after the company finished their side of the paperwork?

    Book the appointment as early as you can — the slot date is the part you can't control. You can usually keep collecting documents while you wait for it.

      That's what I'd do too. Timing varies a lot by office and season, so I wouldn't plan around anyone else's number.
